I have been working in hotels for several years in reservations and in room service, but I have a BA in media studies and am getting my MA in liberal studies. I would love to find a job with a book publisher or a magazine. Will ageism be a problem…and also, what kind of money will it take to get settled someplace new? I currently live in New Orleans, LA. NYC is very expensive, you may get $1K for shared room. You need at least $6K to settle down in NYC, and try to get some quick jobs in hotel to keep you alive. Upstate is much cheaper, but not that much job opportunity.
It is not easy to find a job now, you may try to get some govermental jobs.
