CNN repeated the Edwards’ story over and over all afternoon, as though it were the most important story ever told. I didn’t hear a word about the uproar in Ohio yesterday when John McCain was confronted about his support of the German company, DHS, which will result in the loss of up to 30,000 jobs. Nor did we hear about the letter that George Tenet instructed the CIA to pretend was from Saddam Hussein, with orders from the White House, according to famed author, Russ Suskind.
Americans seem to be obsessed with sexual scandals. This must liven their lives like nothing else can. The private lives of the Edwards should be of little interest to anyone except themselves, but we seem to be fascinated by every little tidbit of information. If we could crawl in bed with these wrongdoers, we’d probably all do that, too. A bit crowded, but it would satisfy our base instincts.
Democratic presidents and presidential hopefuls all seem to have mammoth libidos. John Kennedy was totally addicted, FDR has his mistress, Clinton had his scandal! I have come to the conclusion that Republicans cheat with Money and Democrats cheat with women.
