Windows Media Player 11 for Vista will not play files while a cd is inserted in the drive, is there a fix?
CD will play if you right click the drive and select play, all volumes are as high as possible, mp3 will play only if there are no cds in the drive. All other media programs work as normal. This is the Vista 32 bit WMP11, came on the disk. System is current w/ upgrades. Player bar looks like its playing but no sound.
Autoplay is set, but it is done differently in Vista. The sound will work sporadically, is there a certain program that conflicts w/ MP11
click on My Computer, then find your cd/dvd drive. Right-click, properties on the cd drive and go to the Autoplay tab. For music files, select wmp11 under actions.
