How to Remove & Uninstall Windows Media Player instantly?
There may be a time that you need to uninstall windows media player 11, 10, 9 or any other version… This may be the result of some corruption that has taken place or it could be that you downloaded a newer ‘beta’ version and want to remove it and ‘roll back’ to the previous version.
However this may not necessarily be as easy as one would think. Microsoft themselves suggest different ways of doing this depending on what version of Windows you have running on your computer.
Usually it involves much more than merely going to the control panel to uninstall windows media player, since it also depends on what version of the player software you have installed on your system.
Method 1: Uninstall And Remove Windows Media Player in Safe Mode
Basically this means restarting your computer in ‘safe’ mode – to do this, you have to restart your computer, and while it is in the process starting pressing the F8 key. Choose Safe Mode, and the press ENTER.
Then once it starts in safe mode, click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK. Click the program, and then click Remove. At this point, simply follow the prompts to uninstall Windows Media Player, and then restart the computer when you are prompted.
If you didn’t Remove Windows Media Player, try Method 2.
Method 2: Run A Program To Remove The Program
This method involves running a program to remove the core of the player. In this case you would click Start, click Run, type %windir%$ntUninstallwmp11$spuninstspuninst.exe, and then click OK. Click Next, and then click Finish.
As we have stated at the beginning of the article, sometimes the process is not as smooth as this may seem, and sometimes may involve editing the actual windows registry itself.
Here, it is extremely easy to make a mistake, and requires very painstaking care to do it properly without messing up some other program on the computer, while attempting to uninstall windows media player.

Windows media player 11 will not install over version 10?
In the past Ive never had this problem…
So I download media player 11 and install it everything seems fine no error messages or anything strange, I restart my laptop and launch media player expecting it to be version 11 but its still version 10.
Ive tried reinstalling it but theres are no effects I even use the window update feature but again nothing.
Anyone have any answers?
