How to convert .mpg to .mp4 files on Mac OS?
iPod is a brand of portable media players designed and marketed by Apple. It only supports MP4 and H.264 video formats. You cannot directly play MPG on any iPod including the hard drive-based iPod Classic, the touch screen iPod Touch, the video-capable iPod Nano, and the compact iPod Shuffle. Some errors happened when open Quick Time on mac?
I have transfered some quick time files to my mac laptop from my lecturers’ portable hard drive. The transfer is successful. However, when I open the quick time files, they won’t play. They can play in quick time but the screen is black/ blank when playing.
When I open the file, a message shows up:
“Additional software is required for QuickTime to playback this media. It may be available from the QuickTime Components page
Make sure your internet connection is active, then click the Continue button to check for the software..”
My lecturer can’t help… Can anyone help? Do I require a higher version of Quick TIme?
THANKS!
Some info:
- macbook (aluminum) OS X 10.5.5
- Quick Time Version 7.5.1 (173)
- it is a digital media class (we use final cut pro)
- the files my lecturer gave me is under the folder called “SD 25fps”
(I’m new to that course so I don’t know what that is)
you probably need to download a codec. you can find them online for free
