All-purpose Media Player for music and movie — New Concept of Home Cinema Player (HDD Player)
Hard Disk Media Player, called HDD media player in short.Just as the name implies, it need to play the files stored in hard drives, mobile hard disk, SD card, U disk storage devices and so on.It looks like a machine but it does not play DVD discs, like Mp4, but much larger capacity and size.

If you don’t have a hard disk at hand now. Don’t worry, with the help of USB 2.0 HOST function, the player can use an U-disk as its storage device too, it’s plug-and-play (PNP). Also with memory card reader function, the player can read and play media files stored in most of the memory cards used by brand digital camera and digital camcorder, like the SD/SDHC/XD/MS.
Usually, hard disk player support all of world’s TV system: PAL/ NTSC/ SECAM.
There’re many interface for A/V output, such as: CVBS, YPbPr, VGA, HDMI, S-VIDEO, Coaxial, Optical etc. All media format supported by HDD Player are: RM/ RMVB/ MP3/ WMA/WAV/ MPEG1 (VCD) /MPEG2(VOB) /MPEG4( DIVX,XVID,AVI)/H.264(MKV)/JPEG/ TIF/GIF/ BMP etc. It’s increasing at time goes on.
Optional codec resolution for the image are: 640*320,1024*576,1280*768,1920*1280,720p,1080i,1080p(Full High Definition)…..
Some of the HDD Player are integrated with LAN /Wi-Fi network access function, so it can gets and plays the files stored in any other Computer throught local network.
Users can enjoy the AV record (DVR) function of some of HDD players too, just schedule the time for the player to record the wonderful football game when you have no time to watch the game punctually.

why is this 720p mkv video file lagging when i play it?
I have an acer aspire one
.8.9″ screen 1024×600 resolution
. 1.6ghz cpu (Atom)
. 160gb Hard Drive
. 1gb ram
. 256mb intel GMA 950 internal Graphics
I try to open a mkv video file that is 1280×720, with vlc player.
but i can also open a 1280×720 mp4 video file in vlc, and it runs smoothly. both files have about the same “frame rate”.
could i use a different media player, if so what 1?
and can i change the file type from mkv to mp4 or avi easily, because the video file is big, and would take days to convert (it is about 7gb)
even if there is a fast way to reduce the resulution (not permanantly). i would like to know.

Changing file types can take a long time (Very long time when the file is 7gb). The 720p mkv file may be lagging because the computer cpu or the graphics card is not fast enough. You can try click and dragging the size of the screen to a smaller window and see if the lagging goes away.
