Is there a list of the most common words in the headlines of newspaper articles?

Or at least a large list of beneficial owners of the items used in the media? Is there somewhere online I could find this? I'm looking for the first 1,000 or so words that used in newspaper headlines. I'm assuming that the ',' a ', etc. above the word "list, but I want to know the rest because it can be only slightly different from a general principle of 1000 most common English words. My language project needs this information!

Not Sure what the most common words would be news headlines, but I would think that "the" and "to" not be among them. Shareholders, generally cut unnecessary words as those of article (eg "2 die in the accident" or "GOP leaders give Bush advice "or" Ex-jailer sentenced in inmate's death ")… in fact, looking through the headlines of my local newspaper, I would say the words "in" or "in" are definitely common. Perhaps also "for" and "de". But I would not include "the" or "to" ETA: Since a lot of stories against deaths or cases of law, I would say the words "die" or "die", "loaded", "death", "murder", "case". Morbid, but that's the news for you …
