• Whenever I try to insert or remove an SD card, the screen goes back up too quickly. What can be done about this?
  Instead of pressing the eject disk button, lower the screen incrementally so there’s enough room to access the SD card slot.
• You mentioned that this product is compatible with iPods and iPhones. Will my 3rd generation iPod Nano will work with it?
  We tested iPod compatibility using a 3rd generation iPod Nano 4GB. Furthermore, a second generation iPhone 3g was used to test iPhone compatibility.
• When the DVD is playing I have trouble accessing the menu. What can be done?
  The secret to menu access is to remember that by touching the video playing portion of the screen you bring up the menu. If you tap outside of the video area you adjust the screen.
• Your car DVD players are great, but the user manuals could do use some improvement. Any improvements there?
  This is one of the best car DVD players we’ve tested, but more surprisingly the user manual is great too. We’re sure you’ll find it very helpful.
• Can this car multimedia system support USB drives and SD cards greater than 2GB?
  In our tests, we loaded media onto a 4 GB USB thumb drive and connected it to the car DVD player using a mini SD / female USB extension cable. The unit didn’t have any trouble accessing the files. We also loaded media onto a 4 GB microSD, put that into an SD card adapter, inserted that into an SD card reader and connected the whole assembly to a mini SD / female USB extension cable. No problems there. We also inserted a 8 GB SD card into the SD media card slot and this also went smoothly.
• What points of interest options are there?

  Yes, the antennas come with very powerful magnets. Not as strong as Magneto’s mutant powers, but pretty strong. They’ll stay stuck on despite the rockiest ride.
• What GPS software comes with this car navigation powerhouse? Is it Route 66?
  Evalution GPS software is included, but purchasing your own GPS software is encouraged.

I spilled water on my laptop, luckily it works…but in a weird way. HELP!?

Just the other day, i spilled water on my laptop. It immediately shut off, so as i paniced, i unplugged everything and turned the computer off etc etc…So when i figured it was all dry i tried to tape the power button and it does not work. (Neither does the media direct button) I have a dell inspiron 6400 fyi. The battery does not charge when it is plugged in, but the laptop works if its plugged in. The only way i can turn my comp on is if I take the battery out and put it back in..which is getting really annoying. Nothing on my computer is broken besides the power button. is there anyway to fix this problem or am i stuck with it like this till i get a new laptop? thanks

This happened to me before on my “old” IBM thinkpad … but with Pepsi. I “soaked” it with an electronics cleaner.

Leave it off. Disconnect the battery. Open it and prop it up so that the keypad is vertically straight up and down, and the screen is also at an angle to keep water away from it. Keep it off for a week to ensure it’s fully dried out. Check for “corrosion” on the battery connections. Use an ordinary pink pencil eraser to gently clean the connections if necessary. Try it again !

If the power button still doesn’t work. Get it replaced if the price is reasonable.
