Can anyone point me in the direction of a FAQ to get the Windows media function on my xbox 360 to work?

I have tried Googling it and looked through the xbox.com pages but found them useless, I want to link my xbox 360 (connected via ethernet cable to my Orange Livebox) and my Compaq laptop which connects to my livebox via wifi. Anyone know of the correct settings to get this to work or give me a step by step guide because I have a fairly large library of videos and music on my laptop which I wanna be able to view on my Samsung LCD TV.

Please help me, it will be massively appreciated.

There are too many variables but i’ll try. First you need to make sure all your pcs shared the same network group name, enabled file and printer sharing on all. Next make sure you have UPNP (universal plug and play) enable on your router, this service must also be set to automatic too in Window. Other services that need to set to start automatic with window is Window Media and SSDP Dicovery services. Open WMP 11, Click the small arrow under NowPlaying tab,More Options,Library,Configure Sharing, Put a check mark on Share Media, in Settings choose all media type. You also should see the Xbox 360 in the Share Media panel too, with a green check mark. Don’t forget to look at Monitor Folder at the Library tab to choose where the xbox 360 should look for media files.
