Upgrading to media centre 2005 from XP Home?
I have a friend who birthday is coming up and has alot of video on their computer without being able to use a remote. Firstly is media centre 2005 the best option as its a new OS or is it best to buy some other software that would support a remote? Secondly would it be similar to the vista upgrade, in that it would replace the orginal xp home? thanks for your time.
Vista Home Premium and Ultimate include media center but it is wiser to do a clean install rather than an upgrade – also, MediaPortal is a free, open source alternative to Windows Media Center which supports various remote controls, including the Windows media center remote.
