Vista Home Premium or XP Media Center?
I am building a media center PC for the room, the specs of the computer is:
2.0Ghz Pentium 4
768MB RAM
320GB Hard Drive
256MB nVIdia GeForce 6200
So Can you please help me decide whether Vista Home Premium or Xp Media Center. Thanks!!
Ps: Don’t say linux because it doesn’t support my wireless card.
Your computer is too old for Vista (it won’t even install) so get XP 32-bit Media Center. Just install XBMC and Boxee on it and it should run fine.
You can also get a wireless ethernet bridge for $50-$80, but then at that point I’d just buy an AppleTV with XBMC/Boxee or a Popcorn Hour for $250 if you are hooking it up to a TV. I bought my AppleTV off craigslist for $110 and have never regretted it.
I think a wireless ethernet bridge with LinuxMCE is still too complicated for most people.
